Mechanical Drilling
Mechanical drilling generates holes that penetrate copper layers of the PCB and facilitate point-to-point electrical connections. Drilling is a preliminary PCB production process which will significantly affect subsequent processes and finished product reliability. The increasing hole density of PCBs results in the need for more advanced technological requirements at the drilling operation, specifically regarding positional accuracy and hole quality. Topoint with its advances in technology and experience in strengthening cutting capability, chip removal, accuracy retention, extending tool life and improving process efficiency is capable of providing optimal and the most cost-effective solutions to customers.
Laser Drilling
With electronic products becoming smaller and more compact specifications for PCB’s have evolved from the basic single layer board to current multiple layer boards, flexible PCB’s, IC carriers and HDI PCB’s with many more interconnects. As such some PCB’s require very small diameter through holes and blind via holes that only connect two copper layers. Laser drilling technology has become the primary method adopted to generate very small diameter through holes and blind vias. Topoint also offers customers high quality laser drilling services and has recognition from numerous major PCB manufacturers based on its processing efficiency and product reliability.
